Tacos are a logical tool for employee recognition, right? Thanks to a neat little app called HeyTaco ??, they are now at BuildPass HQ. It’s a simple system for giving a shoutout to a colleague - highlighting what they’ve been doing and how they’re living the BuildPass values. Nothing complicated, just good vibes and tacos. Fun fact: 723 tacos have been shared in less than 30 days - that's a lot of #shoutouts While we're here, a special little shoutout for our ?? of Ops Caylie McDonald for implementing the system ??.

"Living your company’s core values isn’t a bottom-up thing—it starts at the top." In this clip from the Amazing Teams podcast, Doug Dosberg shares why leadership has to go first when it comes to living your core values. At HeyTaco ??, everything we build supports peer-to-peer recognition—but when it comes to culture, some things can’t be delegated. If your core values are just words on a wall, your team will know. Want them to live the values? Show them what it looks like. #Leadership #CoreValues #CompanyCulture #HeyTaco #MakeWorkBetter #LeadByExample #AmazingTeams

Gratitude has no age limit. ???? We came across this AWESOME video from The Greater Good Science Center where teens wrote heartfelt gratitude letters to the people who shaped their lives. It's a powerful reminder that saying "thank you" never goes out of style—no matter your age. At HeyTaco, we believe in the ripple effect of gratitude. Whether it’s a teen writing a letter or a teammate giving a taco, every act of gratitude matters. It lifts spirits, strengthens connections, and reminds us we’re seen. So here’s a big ?? to Greater Good Science Center for inspiring more gratitude in the world! https://lnkd.in/duUPMYHW And think about who you can thank today. #Gratitude #Recognition #HeyTaco #MakeWorkBetter

Gratitude is contagious. ???? When you take a moment to say "thank you," it’s more than words. It’s a spark—of happiness, connection, and shared kindness. Whether it's across the desk or across the globe, those little moments of appreciation inspire others to pass it on. Because when you feel seen, you want others to feel it too. And yes, sometimes that "thank you" comes with a taco. ?? ?? to Eugeniuses and Catherine Cormier for living the attitude of gratitude every day. #Gratitude #WorkplaceCulture #Recognition #HeyTaco

Why do some recognition programs thrive while others fall flat? ?? We’re getting nerdy (in the best way) about the psychology of workplace recognition—what works, what doesn’t, and why. Here’s what we’ll taco ‘bout: ?? Why recognition motivates (or doesn’t) ?? How to make it feel authentic (bye, awkward kudos) ?? What science says about rewards, frequency, and impact ??? Featuring experts who know what makes people feel truly valued: ?? Dr. Adam Presslee (University of Waterloo) ?? Dr. Alex Vandenberg (Gies College of Business, University of Illinois) ?? Dr. Ewelina Forker (Wisconsin School of Business) ??? Director, Operations & Client Experience at Dreww

Nothing makes me happier than seeing taco parties on Friday afternoons. ???? Tacos have become part of Dreww's company culture (we use HeyTaco ??, a recognition app integrated with Slack). Tacos are used to celebrate and highlight good deeds, great work, and the small (or mighty!) wins that keep us moving forward. Sure, we share tacos all week long, but Fridays have become a full-on taco fest. Seeing everyone come together before the weekend is the best feeling. ?? Building a culture of recognition doesn’t have to be complicated. How does your team celebrate wins?

Want to be a better leader? Start by leading like you would a 9-year-old. In this clip from the Amazing Teams podcast, Elizabeth Hofreuter shares a simple but powerful truth: ?? “Everyone wants to be loved, and everyone wants to be heard.” Whether you're talking to a child or leading a team, great leadership comes down to three things: ? Listen Like You Mean It: Stop what you’re doing, make eye contact, and give your full attention. Active listening isn’t just about hearing words—it’s about making people feel valued. ? Respect Every Idea: Even if someone’s idea feels a little “out there” (like serving chocolate milk at lunch!), ask “why?” instead of dismissing it. You'll encourage deeper thinking and show that their input matters. ? Know When to Pause: Respectfully set boundaries when needed. If a conversation needs more time, let them know you value it and suggest picking it up later. These aren’t just tips for talking to kids—they’re lessons for leading people. Because at the end of the day, everyone wants to feel seen, heard, and respected. #AmazingTeams #Leadership #ActiveListening #TeamCulture
