Kit launches Australian-first feature to help kids earn and learn about interest. With Youthsaver, your kids could start earning interest on savings in their Youthsaver account. Parents and carers can now link a new or existing CommBank Youthsaver account to their child's Kit account. Once linked, you and your child will be able to see their Youthsaver balance within the Kit app and transfer from Kit to Youthsaver. Yish Koh, Managing Director of Kit, said: “While there’s no shortage of financial products enabling grown-ups to manage a child’s savings, most of these don’t have an experience designed for the child. We wanted to change that – helping get kids excited about the earning-potential of interest, and put into practice positive savings behaviours we hope they’ll carry forward into adulthood.” Learn more at https://hubs.ly/Q02Yt4h20 ... You might already know that paying for something by cash fires off pain signals in your brain - and helps us hesitate before making that purchase. But in this age of invisible money, did you know that paying by credit cards or smartphones have transformed that pain into pleasure at the checkout (with pain for the bank balance later)? Excited to discuss “Invisible Money: How Technology can Help or Hinder the Next Generation” and their financial literacy with Emily Heath, Georgie Dent, Wil Monte and Nicole Pedersen-McKinnon on Saturday, October 19th, 2pm on the Discovery Stage at SXSW Sydney. Thanks to INVNT? and SXSW Sydney for hosting! To read more about the "pleasure of paying": https://lnkd.in/e6wdC2SP https://lnkd.in/eWE3KPYP

Our MD Yish recently spoke with the The Australian Financial Review about how easy it is to set and track pocket money chores and have visibility over your child’s spending. For the cost of a cup of coffee a month, Kit helps kids grow their financial capability with gamified learning in the app. It also enables them to practice skills like allocating money to their savings goals and helps them spend those hard-earned dollars safely with their own prepaid Visa card. https://lnkd.in/gD9AvkgC

Kit MD, Yish Koh spoke with Diana Jenkins about building scam smart kids. “If you want to be financially well, you have to have a level of money smarts, of financial capability,” she said. “Financial literacy for us is about the knowledge, which is very important, but you also need to have behaviours and positive attitudes.” To hear more from Yish and other experts like Scott Pape, check out the article here: https://lnkd.in/gWPgZ2vu
