That’s one of the many reasons we’re grateful to be building Famm Connect — a mobile app designed for LGBTQ+ professionals and business owners to come together, support one another, and grow in a space that truly values and uplifts each of us. Now, more than ever, this work feels so important. On December 11th, we’re hosting a virtual event to celebrate the launch of our mobile app, and we’re deeply honored and humbled to announce that Blair Imani, creator of the viral web series, Smarter In Seconds, will be moderating the Famm Connect Launch Party panel discussion. As an author, educator, content creator, and powerful advocate for intersectional activism, Blair has inspired and empowered so many people from around the world. We couldn’t imagine anyone more suited to lead a meaningful conversation on what it means to be queer in professional spaces and how we can continue to push these boundaries. The Famm Connect Launch Party is a free virtual event featuring an inspiring panel discussion, exclusive giveaways, and the chance to connect with incredible LGBTQ+ leaders. Six ways I navigate entrepreneurship as a queer, introverted entrepreneur. ?? Over time, I’ve realized that building a business isn’t just about the work — it’s about creating a space that honors who I am (including being an introvert). Here are some tips that have helped me! 1?? Create a safe and energizing workspace A workspace filled with things I love (plants, art, photos, a hot mug of tea) makes a huge difference and helps me show up fully as myself every day. 2?? Outsource energy-draining tasks There’s nothing wrong with saying, “This isn’t my strength!” As an introvert with social anxiety, I’ve learned that asking Cat to occasionally handle a podcast solo, or lead an event, helps me stay in a positive mindset, show up fully, and be more productive throughout the day. 3?? Build a supportive inner circle of queer entrepreneurs As an introvert, this can be tough, but as a Leo ??, I definitely need to connect with others.?I’m so grateful to have Cat and we cheer each other on. We also have Famm which has become a community where we can lean on each other for support. Surround yourself with other folks who lift you up; it makes a huge difference. 4?? Prioritize meaningful connections over quantity I naturally gravitate towards a smaller circle of friends / business besties / etc. This also allows me to build stronger friendships and give more of myself in the process. Focusing on depth over quantity creates space for authentic relationships and genuine support. 5?? Take time to recharge Recharging is essential for me — whether it’s audiobooks, walks with my kiddo, gardening, or Netflix. It helps me reset and show up fully. 6?? Embrace being an introvert I’ll admit, I don’t always love being an introvert, but it’s part of who I am. Accepting that has helped me embrace it — and embracing it means honoring what I need, like time to recharge and not always being in the spotlight (even if it frustrates the Leo inside of me).
