    I didn’t start a creative business to spend my days in email threads and budget negotiations. But here we are. Today, I wasn’t shooting. I wasn’t editing. I wasn’t on set. I was: - Locking in project quotes and negotiating budgets. Clients don’t just pay for visuals. They pay for confidence. If you hesitate on your pricing, they’ll hesitate on you. - Sourcing the right creatives for upcoming jobs. Your network is everything. The better your circle, the easier it is to execute at a high level, even when you’re not in the room. - Making sure everything was dialed before anyone picked up a camera. The best productions feel effortless because the hard work was done before anyone picked up a camera. Some days, I miss the simplicity of just creating, but this is what separates a side hustle from a real business. Most creatives don’t talk about this part. But if you’ve been in the game long enough, you know that the work before the work is what actually makes things happen. I continue to implement these lessons every day while running HEYDAY Agency, and I’m excited to see where this journey takes us.
