Marvin User Research Platform
用户调研软件
Marvin is a qualitative user research platform that helps teams like yours design better products and services. We’re the only research tool designed to make research easier for everyone, not just for trained researchers. In today’s world, everyone in a company talks to customers — so we make the conversations already happening much more efficient and collaborative. Unlike other research software, distributed teams can use our platform to conduct rigorous research, so it doesn’t matter if your colleagues or research participants are located across the globe. We streamline the user interview process to increase productivity and save you time at every step. And because Marvin was built by researchers, we approach our own product design theoretically. Every product enhancement comes directly from listening to the people who use Marvin every day. We automate the tedious aspects of qualitative research so you’re free to uncover rich insights about what your customers really need.

Research is a complex craft full of twists and turns that can derail your study. Oh no! How can you make sure your research plan stays on track? Avoid these common pitfalls ?? ? Only focusing on features, not outcomes. When researchers are obsessed with adding new features, they lose sight of what the user really needs. This is the opposite of user-centricity! ? Not setting specific goals. It’s not enough to say you want to understand more about your users. Be clear in your questioning to get better, more impactful outcomes from your research. ? Failure to deal with bias. Every study has biases, and that's OK! But it’s important to acknowledge and document any inherent biases in your approach. ? Minimal stakeholder involvement. Stakeholders are a great source of user information! Failing to include them in research can lead to poor buy-in and underinformed research plans. ? Ignoring context. Researchers can over-rely on quantitative data and ignore valuable qualitative information about the user experience. Collect qualitative data to understand your users better.

5 ways to get more useful insights from your research ?? 1?? Focus on the user - What are their goals? What do they care about? 2?? Collect both quantitative and qualitative data to paint a well-rounded picture of the user experience. 3?? Use pilot studies and interviews on a smaller scale to refine your research process and eliminate bias. 4?? Don't "set and forget" your research! Approach research as an ongoing, iterative process. 5?? Learn how to communicate user needs and product choices in language your stakeholders understand. Would you add anything to this list?

Will AI mean the end of the specialized researcher? Here's Kate Moran's take: "Our ability to think about context and nuance in really complicated ways, to me, is essential for being successful in UX research or design or product or like any other adjacent roles. And I have not seen AI tools capable of that — of pulling all these disparate pieces together and synthesizing them into something that's meaningful and then weighing pros and cons for the business, and your users, and your dev team, and then making decisions in a way that's going to lead to the best outcomes for all of those things. I haven't really seen AI tools capable of that. And so I think that's one of our advantages. But I do think our roles are going to change a lot." — This is an excerpt from the webinar "Safe Ways to Use AI to Improve Your Research Workflows" with Kate Moran. Did you miss the live show?
