Hesse Mechatronics has been working with University California Santa Barbara Gaucho Race Team and University California Riverside Highlander Racing for sometime with wire/ribbon bonding their battery packs for FormulaSAE. They each have very unique interconnection methods. Gaucho Race Team used aluminum ribbon bonding while Highlander Racing used heavy copper wire. Even though these students are quite busy with their studies, they found time to attend the last IMAPS Symposium to talk with high school students about choosing engineering for their studies. Gaucho Race Team: Nicholas Rivelle, Ryan Nguyen, Jason Wei, Aran Sandhu, Diego Vasquez, Owen Liu, and Raaghav Thirumaligai. Highlander Race Team: Joshua Huang, Grayson Young, and Don Shiu.
