We are pleased to share that Hesperus’ own Chris Key will be participating on an Urban Institute panel on Wednesday of this week, during a hybrid event to launch their newest research study, Expanding Digital Opportunity: Charting a Path toward Full Inclusion. The program will feature a new framework for understanding digital opportunity and inclusion and panels deep-diving into three focus areas: Increasing Economic Mobility by Expanding Digital Opportunity; Improving Health Outcomes by Strengthening Digital Inclusion; and Expanding Digital Opportunity in Rural and Tribal Communities. ?? Congratulations to Chuck McGregor, our 2023 Storyteller Award recipient! ?? In Native American communities, storytellers hold a vital role—they share heritage, preserve legacy, and amplify voices. Storytellers like Chuck are essential to spreading the Hesperus mission and educating others about the work we do to empower Native veterans, youth, and communities. As the first recipient of this award, Chuck exemplifies what it means to be a storyteller. After visiting the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation with us in 2022, he immediately offered his support—not just financially but by passionately sharing our story with those outside the Native community.
