A Flatiron and Herzog joint venture was awarded the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) I-5719C I-85 Railway Bridges project. This project will remove and replace three rail bridges and a vehicular bridge. All bridges span I-85 near Charlotte, North Carolina. Last week, Herzog hosted 29 students and three teachers from Platte County High School. During the visit, students learned about the energy sector, our research and development teams, and the history and culture of Herzog. Students also received a firsthand look at our shops and warehouse, where they saw equipment and held discussions with our managers. Herzog is honored and proud to share our expertise with the next generation.

Take a look at the latest field action from the DART Silver Line project! Herzog and joint venture partner Archer Western recently wrapped up a seven-day cutover with BNSF, Dallas, Garland & Northeastern Railroad (DGNO), and Trinity Railway Express (TRE) that started Feb. 25. This major cutover – the project’s largest – has been in the works for several years. Crews shifted BNSF’s mainline from the existing Madill Subdivision track onto a new Madill Subdivision track alignment during a 16-hour absolute work window. Cutover activities continued through the weekend and included constructing and surfacing new northbound track.

Herzog and joint venture partner Larison Construction Corp were recently awarded the contract for the Berths 302-305 On-Dock Railyard Expansion project at the Port of Los Angeles (POLA). Herzog is proud to partner with Larison Construction Corp on this project to expand the area with five additional loading tracks totaling 12,000 linear feet. This is Herzog’s ninth project at POLA. We are proud to build on our nearly three decade relationship with the Port of Los Angeles delivering world class rail infrastructure to enhance critical supply chain logistics.
