Employee Spotlight ? Meet James C. Wininger, P.E.! James began his journey with us as an intern, steadily advancing to his current role as our Electrical Data Analyst Manager. We asked James what he loves most about his role, and he shared, “The connection with the Herzig team and knowing that the work I do matters in helping workers go home safely.” James is a true asset to our team, consistently going above and beyond. He’s on the verge of a remarkable achievement—being licensed as a Professional Engineer in all 50 states! Alaska is the only state remaining, with approval expected by the end of August. ?? Outside of work, James is involved in his local community and church. Whether he's working out, hiking, or spending quality time with his wife, Caitlyn, he’s always making the most of his time. Why do infrared inspections matter? Infrared (IR) scans are an essential tool for identifying?potential issues in electrical systems before they result in costly failures or hazardous conditions. Starting in 2023, NFPA 70B made it mandatory that all electrical equipment be inspected using infrared thermography technology at least every 12 months. Arc flash studies must be reviewed for accuracy at intervals not exceeding five years or more frequently if significant changes occur within the electrical system or if there are updates to regulations or standards, according to the 2024 NFPA 70E, Article 130.5. Oftentimes, updates are needed sooner due to equipment updates and changes. ??
