The Hertog Foundation offers several highly competitive and selective educational programs for outstanding individuals who seek to influence the intellectual, civic, and political life of the United States. We offer programs in three main areas: Political Thought & Philosophy; War & Foreign Affairs; and Economics & Domestic Policy. Our programs include the summer-long Political Studies Program; shorter summer courses; an array of weekly reading groups; competitive weekend seminars; as well as advanced seminars for young professionals in Washington, DC.

161 years ago, Abraham Lincoln delivered the "Gettysburg Address." At the time, Senator Charles Sumner called it a "monumental act," and the speech remains one of the finest achievements in our history.
