According to the World Health Organization (WHO), around 55 million people worldwide are living with dementia, and this number is expected to nearly double by 2050. Early diagnosis, awareness, and intervention are crucial to improve the quality of life for those affected. Recently, HopeSide Senior Community hosted a presentation on dementia. The community room filled up quickly with residents interested in learning more. Being educated on dementia is not only important for individuals affected by the condition but also for society at large. Additionally, being educated can help to improve early diagnosis, support research, reduce stigma, and provide caregivers with the tools they need to offer compassionate care.
