?? Announcement: There are two seats on the South Carolina Learns Board of Directors up for election this year. Board members have strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with a variety of interested parties, and a commitment to the mission and vision of Cyber Academy of South Carolina and Heron Virtual Academy. A background in education, finance, law, or community service is helpful but not required. If elected, you must be able to attend bimonthly Board meetings plus additional committee and called meetings as requested. You must also attend board training within the first year of service. Additional responsibilities: ? Oversee the development and implementation of school policies ? Collaborate with fellow board members to set educational goals and ensure accountability ? Advocate for the needs and interests of students, teachers, and the community ? Attend mandatory board training within the first year of service ? Participate in bimonthly board meetings and additional committee meetings and called meetings in-person or virtually ? At testing training in April, we were able to recognize our teachers and support staff of the year in person. Congratulations again to our teacher of the year, Mrs. Bartell! ??
