Coming this spring: “Caregiving," a new two-hour documentary ??? executive produced by Bradley Cooper. Through intimate footage and interviews, the film follows a diverse group of caregivers and care recipients sharing their personal stories of challenge and triumph, as well as leaders on the frontlines of the care movement – including Caring Across and our partners! We are so grateful to be an official partner on this film, which shines a light on just how much care is at the center of our lives and communities. When we recognize care as a universal experience — something we all give or receive at some point — we can see our connections to one another more clearly and build systems that truly work for everyone. ?? Mark those calendars because you'll be able to stream it on PBS.org and the PBS app starting May 27, 2025! And catch the nationwide broadcast on PBS stations on June 24, 2025 at 9/8c

Read about my day as a "sandwich generation" caregiver, before I also took on being a cofounder of HeroGeneration! It was exhausting just writing it all down, let alone doing it! #caregiver #caregivers #caregiversupport #care #aging #carehero #herogeneration #sandwichgeneration #familycaregiver #familycaregivers?

We're so grateful to Genevieve Glass and Spectrum News for highlighting caregivers and how we support them on National Caregiver Day! Debra said it best, "If you don't take care of yourself, who's going to take care of you?" https://lnkd.in/gRAe2kqj

Impressive work by Asha Prihar and Spotlight PA shedding light on the increasing responsibility of young caregivers aged 10-25. The data reveals a concerning trend of reduced life satisfaction among these youth when shouldering caregiving duties. While caregiving can offer a rewarding and compassionate journey when assisting a primary caregiver, it is crucial that the burden of home healthcare in America does not fall on our youngest members. When I was 30, I gave birth to twins—far earlier than expected. At just 30 weeks, they entered the world so tiny, so fragile, and I spent the next two months in the hospital watching them grow, fight, and learn to survive in a world they weren’t quite ready for. It was the scariest time of my life, filled with sleepless nights, endless worry, and moments of pure frustration. Now, at 40, I find myself in a different yet strangely familiar place. I thought life had slowed down, that things had finally found a steady rhythm. But then, I became a caregiver to my aging parents, and suddenly, the roles I had played a decade ago shifted in ways I never imagined. Instead of refilling my premature babies’ anti-reflux medication, I now manage my mom’s reflux caused by years of chronic prednisone use. Instead of pushing around my twins in a double stroller from appointment to appointment, I now push my mom in a wheelchair to her post hip surgery followups. Instead of guiding my twins through physical therapy to strengthen their tiny limbs, I now help my father through his own therapy, working against the grip of Parkinson’s. Instead of teaching my babies how to coordinate drinking milk and breathing at the same time, I watch my dad, determined and focused, practice holding a fork in his non-dominant hand because his dominant one trembles too much. The parallels are impossible to ignore. The love, the patience, the helplessness, the resilience—it’s all the same. But what I’ve learned through both experiences is that caregiving, whether for a newborn or an aging parent, is an act of deep, unwavering love. It’s a journey that reshapes you, humbles you, and teaches you the true meaning of strength. To all those walking this path—whether with tiny hands in an incubator or wrinkled hands that once held yours—you are not alone. ?? #caregiver #caregivers #caregiversupport #care #aging #carehero #herogeneration #sandwichgeneration #familycaregiver #familycaregivers?
