Heroes of Color is an award-winning company that uses animation to author culturally responsive books for youth and provide opportunities for entrepreneurship. Heroes of Color LLC has been featured in the New York Times, NPR, Telemundo, Spectrum News, and PBS Online. The company’s long-term commitment to educating through art has led to the creation of the book Little Heroes of Color (Scholastic, 2019) and a series of virtual workshops celebrating trailblazers of color. Heroes of Color has worked with The Walt Disney Company, delivering two corporate diversity workshops, including arts and business workshops for Cal Arts, and for the School of Visual Arts in NYC and The Arts Center, College of the Canyon, Cal State Long Beach, The Brooklyn Academy of Music, The Schomburg Center. Heroes of Color is a trusted vendor of the New York City Department of Education, working closely with the division of Multilingual Learners and elementary schools across the five boroughs. Heroes of Color prides itself in producing impactful sessions that empower students through the arts using social-emotional learning and opportunities for entrepreneurship and financial literacy. The workshops help students to deepen cultural connections to student heritage and history, building confidence and developing leadership skills.
