Great news for the Town of Georgetown, IN!
?? GRANT ALERT: Town of Georgetown?? Located just off of I-64 in Georgetown, Ashley Mariah Memorial Park has been a pleasant hideaway playground and shelter area for local families for more than 20 years. But with outdated playground equipment and little accessibility for differently-abled people, the park was in need of a facelift. Thanks to a $5,000 Community Assist Grant, the Town of Georgetown, Indiana was able to make that dream a reality, building the area's first all-inclusive playground! The structure allows for all different types of play, including: - Wheelchair access on the main piece of equipment - Sensory and audio equipment for kids with autism - A swing that features a mommy-and-me set-up - A swing that straps in kids or adults with disabilities so that they can experience swinging safely. The playground also features a pour-in-place sponge material, which allows easy wheelchair access and a softer playing surface for everyone.
