As November is a month of giving, we reflect back on the impactful projects we have been able to execute thanks to our donors, one of which is our recent deployment of 10 colposcopes in Ghana! ?????? One of the OBGYNs at Cape Coast Teaching Hospital reflected on the impact of the colposcope donations: "We lose over 2000 women every year to cervical cancer. There's a long period from infection with the HPV to development of cancer when we can pick up this change. But, the naked eye cannot detect these changes. The colposcope is so critical because it both magnifies and treats lesions. With this early intervention, we then don't have women coming in with full blown cancers, and they can live their normal lives. We can now avoid the unnecessary deaths related to cervical cancer. " ?? Stay tuned for our official report, and watch our work in action in this news clip from Ghana Broadcasting Corporation: https://lnkd.in/eiNbUsMM (44:00-1:05:00) With your help this November, we want to continue expanding equipment delivery and bring solutions to women globally! ?? As we reflect on our most recent Voice, Choice, and Agency podcast series, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our fantastic guests from Population Services International, Fifi Oluwatoyin Ogbondeminu , B. Pharm, MPH, MBA, FPCPharm, FIMC, Alison Malmqvist, MAUREEN CHEGE - ONDEGO, Andrea Novella, Ayesha Leghari, and Rena Greifinger who joined us over the past three episodes. ?? HERhealthEQ's CEO and the moderator of the series Marissa Fayer provides her thoughts on the insightful conversations: "The HERhealthEQ HER.Talks discussion with Population Services International showed the power of two organizations with similar goals moving the future of women and women's health forward. Using local-based leadership in regions we all work, with global vision and connectedness allows women to take control of their own health. From hearing about several of Population Services International's programs, to understanding why they are including men in women's health solutions, to understanding the philanthropic landscape, the three-part series enabled us to understand the work and mission of Population Services International This also gave HERhealthEQ a way to learn from global leaders on how to better grow and scale our programs and our reach. We hope this is the start of more, and for an expansion of learning, impact, and better health for all women around the world." ???Listen now! https://lnkd.in/e-3wJ4Gr #HERTalks #Podcast #PodcastJourney #WomensHealth #GlobalHealth #Voice #Choice #Agency #HealthEquity #PodcastSeries #WomenEmpowerment #HealthLeadership #VoiceAndChoice #PSIGlobal #HERhealthEQ #HealthTalks

As November is a month of giving, we reflect back on the impactful projects we have been able to execute thanks to our donors. ?? In Burkina Faso, ~75% of women diagnosed with cervical cancer die from the disease. To address this critical mortality rate, HERhealthEQ delivered 2 pieces of equipment: one video colposcopy device and one cryotherapy unit. This deployment treats the full life-cycle of patient care, providing devices that both detect and treat cervical cancer. THANK YOU to our partners Jhpiego, MedGyn Products, Inc. and Foundation Kimi for your instrumental support! ?? Since implementation, OVER 4,000 women have been screened and treated with the technology. Do you want to be a part of increasing healthcare access and quality for women in Burkina Faso and other LMICs? HERhealthEQ has had a long history of supporting breast cancer initiatives in LMICs, with Costa Rica being the first breast cancer project. In Limón, Costa Rica, the number of mammograms performed declined RAPIDLY between 2009 and 2011, from 2,600 to just 685 annually. This decline in women screened for breast cancer was attributed to old machinery frequently going out of service. In response to this, HERhealthEQ deployed mammography equipment to Hospital Tony Facio Castro. ?? Since the deployment, OVER 3,000 screenings are conducted each year, which is a 400%+ increase in annual mammographies.?? Thank you to Hologic (Formerly Gen-Probe) Fundación Anna Ross for your instrumental partnership in this effort! Join the conversation and FOLLOW ALONG with HERhealthEQ this month as we explore breast cancer's impact, how our Costa Rica project addressed this critical health issue, and how our future projects will continue to alleviate the disease's burden. #breastcancer #breastcancerawareness #cancerawareness #earlydetection #womenshealth #screening #globalhealth #LMICs #CancerScreening #HealthEquity #Mammogram #PreventiveCare #CostaRicaHealth #BreastHealth
