HERC recognizes the profound connection between the sacrifices made by veterans and the on going work of ensuring that history's darkest chapters are never forgotten. Many of the veterans we honor today were part of the forces that liberated concentration camps, fought to end the horrors of tyranny, and helped rebuild a world based on hope, unity, and the commitment to never again allow such atrocities to take place. On this Veterans Day, we offer our deepest thanks to all those who have served. Your legacy is a beacon of hope, resilience, and the enduring spirit of humanity.
The HERC team was hard at work this past week bringing Holocaust education to the community. We kicked off with a powerful program on Sunday, September 22nd, featuring “Remembrance of Things Present” with The Braid, which was then followed up with a special abbreviated student program with them on Monday. ?Next, we had the honor of hosting Nick Winton Jr., the son of Sir Nicholas Winton, for programs with BBYO and Maple Dale students. The week culminated in a community Shabbat service where Nick shared his father's inspiring story of bravery and perseverance, which can be viewed on Shalom’s YouTube page. It was truly an unforgettable experience! Watch Nick Winton Jr program: https://lnkd.in/gSec_wSW? #HolocaustEducation #HERC #Remembrance #NickWintonJr #Bravery #Perseverance
