The Herberger Theater Center is deeply saddened by the passing of Dick Bowers. Dick served as President of the Herberger Theater from 2001-2016. He often said that “art saves cities” and he lived out that sentiment every day as he guided our organization. He was instrumental in the creation of our Art Gallery, which will forever be part of his legacy. His spirit of service touched countless lives, and his contributions to the community will continue to inspire future generations. His memory will forever live in our hearts.

We have an exciting weekend lined up at the Herberger Theater Center! On October 4-5, join us for HITCity: Temptations Edition. This special event includes highlights of the journey to stardom of both The Temptations and The Supremes and features their most popular hits (like "My Girl" and "Baby Love.") The show is endorsed and executive produced by Dr. Otis Williams, founder & original member of The Temptations. Limited tickets are still available! Tomorrow night at 6PM, our first First Friday Live event will take place on the Herberger Theater Plaza right outside the building. Enjoy live music from Cold Shott and the Hurricane Horns and Tony Putrino, participate in a community art project with Feeling Doing Thinking, and take a polka dance lesson with Jennifer Cafarella Betts of Ballet Theatre of Phoenix. Our featured non-profit for this event is the Arizona State University School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning and the event is sponsored by SRP. The opening reception for our new Featured Artists Exhibit and Food Exhibit will take place in our art gallery at 6pm tomorrow night as well. Our galleries, curated by Connie and A.O. Tucker, are completely free and open to the public, and the artwork is available for purchase with proceeds benefiting the Herberger Theater’s youth education and community outreach programs.
