The Texas Senate Committee on State Affairs will be holding a hearing on March 3rd at 9am in the Senate Chamber to discuss SB 3 by Senator Charles Perry that would ban THC consumables products. How can you help? ?? Provide public testimony which will be limited to 2 minutes per witness. ?? Provide 25 copies of written testimony to the committee clerk with your name and bill number on each copy. ?? Register AGAINST on the charge at the touch screen kiosk located near the hearing room. ?? Call your lawmaker to express your concerns on the SB 3. ?? Today marks the first day of the 89th Texas Legislative Session! This is going to be exciting but important time for the hemp industry in our state. During the next 5 months, the Texas Hemp Coalition will be working with legislators and their staff on cultivating language that works for our industry. SB 3 will be a major concern for our organization as we advocate to protect our industry while promoting resonable regulation. Be on the lookout for important updates on how to get involved. This week, our Lt. Gov announced that Senate Bill 3 would move to ban all forms of consumable tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, in Texas. This bill will be filed by Senator Charles Perry from Lubbock who passed the original hemp bill in 2019. As we are well aware of their stance on this issue, know that the Texas Hemp Coalition and its members have been fighting diligently for sensible regulation to protect consumers since the inception of this program to keep it favorable for our industry.
