Our Elite-level Chapter of Her Campus Media (HCBU) had a highly successful fall semester. One key aspect of our success was our weekly Chapter meetings, where we came together to collaborate and strengthen our community—whether through Blooket games or hosting student ambassadors from brands like Depop and MUSH (thank you, Madison Judd!). Among our many accomplishments this semester, we’re particularly proud of the outstanding work from our editorial team. Comprising 23 talented writers and editors, they published 183 articles—averaging over 11 articles per week. A standout moment came in the aftermath of the 2024 presidential election, when our team contributed to a piece for BU Today by Chapter President and Editor-in-Chief, Sophia Featherstone, titled “This Loss Was Personal for All of Us.” This collaboration garnered widespread attention, with 43 comments and countless shares, making it the most-commented-on BU Today article in recent history. HCBU’s marketing team, consisting of 28 members, published weekly newsletters and spearheaded a highly successful marketing campaign, "Falling for Her Campus." In addition, the team created weekly graphics for our Instagram, including initiatives like “Member Mondays” and article highlights. A highlight this semester was Chapter Marketing Director Anna Mitchell’s leadership in hosting five Identity Circle events—an HCBU tradition that fosters community, connection, and shared experiences. HCBU’s social media team of 16 talented content creators reached over 21,000 accounts on Instagram this semester. They averaged six posts per week on Instagram and three on TikTok, totaling 115 Instagram posts and 52 TikToks. In addition, the team successfully launched our revamped LinkedIn page and created content for our brand partnerships with GARNIER CLUB, Hero Cosmetics, Kiehl's Since 1851, Sol de Janeiro, Clinique, and Valentino Beauty. HCBU’s events team, made up of 22 event planners, hosted many memorable events this semester, including a member mixer, a Taylor Swift-themed friendship bracelet-making night, a networking event with an inspiring guest speaker, a private shopping experience at Groovy Thrifty on Brighton Avenue, a hot cocoa study night before finals, and a winter formal-inspired brunch. Additionally, for Halloween, Chapter Treasurer Frances Paguirigan hosted a candy gram fundraiser, generating $443 in profit. With a pre-order system engineered by Sophia Featherstone many semesters ago, members ordered ahead, ensuring smooth day-of sales. The fundraiser sold 45 candy grams on the event day and $249 in pre-orders, making it a resounding success. This semester, we also broke internal records in merchandise sales through our continued collaboration with Fresh Prints. Our “match collection,” featuring crewnecks and stickers, sold 50 stickers and 32 crewnecks. Our spring semester application will be launching in January, so stay tuned for details regarding that. Have a wonderful winter break!
