Hepatitis B: new rapid diagnostic test could be a tool for preventing future ??????mother-to-child transmission - [The Lancet Gastroenterology & Hepatology] ??A study assessed performance of a new rapid test that could be used in the future to detect "HBV core-related antigen", to those at highest risk of transmitting hepatitis B perinatally. In 2017, Prince organized a??blood drive in his local community. During the ??screening process, he discovered he was unable to donate blood due to a diagnosis of #hepatitisB. Recognizing the lack of awareness and resources in his community, Prince was inspired to ??take action. Fear, Misconceptions Discourage International Hepatitis B and C Testing – [Contagion Live] ??In a large survey conducted across Africa, Asia and Latin America nearly 1/3 of respondents said they had no interest in getting tested for #hepatitisB virus (HBV) or #hepatitisC virus (HCV). More than half of the respondents said they did not believe they were at risk for these viruses.
