It’s that close relationship you never wanted – with your bathroom fixtures. And when it hits you, you will never forget the stolen moments of time spent regretting that you ever ate that last meal – and wondering if you will ever eat again. Norovirus. “It comes on quickly – and thankfully, leaves within two to four days,” explains Dr. Krishnan Subrahmanian, a pediatrician at Hennepin Healthcare and Chief Medical Officer at Hennepin Health. “But while you’re experiencing those dreaded symptoms of nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting, if can feel much longer.” Norovirus is rearing its ugly head alongside other familiar viruses with vengeance right now, adding to a “quad-demic” of illnesses featuring COVID-19, influenza and RSV.
