Rinsed, the car wash industry's largest CRM provider, recently released their Q4 2024?quarterly report which aggregates data from 3,000 car wash locations around the country. Their stated goal of the quarterly report is to provide national benchmark metrics for operators to see how their store performance measures up to other non-publicly traded industry players. One metric that caught our analyst's attention this quarter was the YOY same store sales growth reported across the cohort (combined retail and member revenue from stores open at least one year). Rinsed reported a 10.5% growth in YOY same store sales in Q4, which was over 3% higher than the previous peak in the last 12 months. For perspective of how this stacks against other consumer focused industries: ?? Restaurant Brands International (RBI), the parent company of Burger King, saw global comparable sales rise by 2.5%, driven by 4.7% growth in international markets (reported in Feb 2025). ??Isolating one of RBI's brands specifically,?Tim Hortons saw 6% increase in Q4 2024. ??NRSInsights (National Retail Solutions Inc.)?reported in December an increase of 1.7% year-over-year (November was 6.6% increase YOY). ??Abercrombie & Fitch Co., Urban Outfitters, and Nordstrom reported 9.8%, 5.1%, and 4% YOY same store sales?increases, respectively, in the last part of 2024. This standout performance underscores the car wash industry's resilience and upward trajectory, surpassing growth rates in several well-established consumer sectors. As consumer demand continues to rise and operators refine their strategies, the industry is not just keeping pace—it’s setting the benchmark.
