Hendrick Health is proud to recognize #NationalRuralHealthDay and celebrate the #PowerOfRural in support of rural hospitals and physician clinics who work tirelessly to provide quality healthcare to their communities. Rural healthcare providers face growing challenges daily, yet they continue to deliver higher quality and more robust healthcare services than ever before. Today, only 10 percent of our population lives in rural Texas, but rural Texas accounts for almost 90 percent of the state’s landmass. That means Hendrick Health’s 24-county service area is roughly the size of the entire state of West Virginia. Hendrick Health’s partnership with 18 hospitals and dozens of rural health clinics spans the West Central Texas region - stretching from Aspermont, Knox City and Haskell to the north, to Brady and Lampasas to the south, to Colorado City and Snyder to the west and to Breckenridge, Eastland and Comanche to the east. On behalf of Hendrick Health employees, we appreciate you and thank you for the tremendous work you do for patients in the region.?
关于我们
For more than nine decades, Hendrick Health has constantly been there to meet the wide-ranging healthcare needs of the Texas Midwest. From its humble beginnings as West Texas Baptist Sanitarium to today's expansive 500-bed facility, the hospital has grown in size and scope. At the heart of today's campus stands the original five-story building, a nucleus of its earliest brown brick and mortar, around which a steady pattern of growth has matured the facility to ten times its original size. Yet, despite the passing of time and the many changes the years have yielded, the commitment of Hendrick Health System and its staff remain the same: to deliver high quality healthcare emphasizing excellence and compassion consistent with the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.

Recently, Hendrick Health employees joined local business leaders and fellow nonprofit organizations at Community Foundation of Abilene’s annual luncheon. Community Foundation of Abilene supports local nonprofits, provides scholarships to hometown graduates and helps families strategically reinvest back into the Big Country and the surrounding region. At Hendrick, we appreciate CFA’s partnership in building a better, healthier community.?

Congratulations, Pam!
I’m happy to announce that Pam Light, Manager, Administration at Hendrick Health, was honored with The Leadership Award at the 2024 Admin Awards – DFW & Southwest Region banquet this past weekend. The The Admin Awards is the administrative profession's highest honor, recognizing the invaluable contributions of administrative professionals. On a personal note, I was blessed to have Pam “inherit” me when I became the president and CEO at Hendrick Health. Having someone who had been with the organization for more than four decades and who could help me navigate my new challenges was truly a blessing. In Pam’s current role, she supports my office, along with the offices of our Chief Financial Officer, Chief Medical Officer and the Board of Trustees. In addition, she leads and mentors a team of administrative professionals across our Hendrick Health campuses. Pam serves our organization with leadership, compassion and unwavering dedication to her colleagues, community and mission. Hendrick Health is honored to recognize Pam Light for this outstanding honor. Congratulations, Pam!

This week, we broke ground on the new Hendrick Clinic Gastroenterology and Hendrick Endoscopy Center. This 24,700-square-foot facility is the first of several key Centennial Expansion initiatives. An existing building will be renovated and expanded for the physician clinic, while the endoscopy center will be all new construction. By moving routine endoscopy and GI cases out of the hospital, more space will be freed up for other patient procedures. As Hendrick Health continues to meet the growing needs of our region, we remain committed to creating easier access to care for our patients and their families.

Congratulations to our structural heart team for completing the first minimally invasive tricuspid edge-to-edge repair (TEER) procedure at Hendrick Health and in the region. The Abbott TriClip? System is the first-of-its-kind device to treat patients with severe tricuspid regurgitation (TR), a disorder in which the valve between the two right heart chambers does not close properly. TR is often debilitating, causing symptoms such as shortness of breath and fatigue, and when left untreated, may progress into conditions such as atrial fibrillation and heart failure. Traditionally, the only treatment option for TR has been surgery. Visit hendrickhealth.org to learn more about the innovative heart and vascular services available at Hendrick Health.

Thank you to the 1,712 participants and 100-plus volunteers who took our slogan "think pink, roll big" to heart to make this year's Bunco for Breast Cancer a glittering success. Attendees were a sight to see dressed for the Roaring '20s theme for the 20th annual event. Best of all, the event raised more than $125,000 for The Hope Fund at Hendrick, which helps pay for mammograms for women in our area who would otherwise be unable to afford one. Mammograms are so important because early detection is a key strategy in fighting Breast Cancer.

Did you know that Hendrick Health is a nonprofit healthcare system directed by a local, volunteer board? It's been that way since our founding in 1924. Through the years, we have grown with the community, creating jobs and continually reinvesting in infrastructure and equipment to offer a wide range of comprehensive healthcare services so people can stay close to home for their medical care.
