Last week, we met with our Industry Leaders to discuss electric rates, green energy, efficiency, and more! The room had no problem taking a deep dive into the world of energy. Listening to Brad Bickett, GM of Henderson Municipal Power & Light, and Tim Lindahl, President and CEO of Kenergy, answer thought-provoking questions from leaders across many of our community's industries was a treat! We were glad to have our good friend and colleague from Graves County Jason Lemle visit Henderson last week! We always enjoy the opportunity to meet with our peers in economic development any opportunity we get.

It's Monday which means it's time for a Board Member Spotlight! Today, we introduce Mr. Bob McIndoo. Bob McIndoo, owner of Windimere Farms, serves as H.E.D's '24-'25 Past-Chair but he has played a part in economic development since the beginning! Bob's favorite thing about Henderson is the variety it offers saying, "We have a nice balance of urban and rural. Not too big and not too small". He appreciates all the little things about Henderson. He is passionate about Henderson, wanting to see growth everywhere but to progress at a pace that doesn't make our hometown unrecognizable. Bob had the opportunity to live in a handful of different cities, mostly large, growing up and considers Henderson to be the best of them all - no matter the size. He knows there is no better place to plant your roots and raise a family. Bob McIndoo plays a vital role on our team and in our community. On Friday, we joined our community in celebrating our friends at Elevate for a huge leap in their mission! Offering permanent housing, support, and stability to the disabled community of Henderson is a project that has been in the works for a long time, and we're so excited to see them break ground. A special shoutout to Julie Wischer (Executive Director of Elevate), the Johnston Family, and everyone who played a part in turning this into a reality!

Do you ever wonder what goes on inside Henderson's newest manufacturing facility Pratt Industries???♂???♀? Last week, our Investor Council met for a great tour of the Mill and Corrugator at Pratt Industries. Thank you to the Pratt Team for hosting our investors and showing them what economic development looks like every day for one of our many local industries. We’re starting this week off right with another Board Member spotlight! Today we meet HMP&L General Manager, Brad Bickett! Brad has been with Henderson Municipal Power & Light for over a decade and continues to choose Henderson, a place he calls a family-oriented small town, every day. Although his choice to move here was for his career, he and his wife Jessie have made the choice to stay to raise their three daughters in our great community. When asked about the growth in Henderson, Brad said he is excited to see the continued development, expansion, and success of small businesses! His favorite memory of Henderson is when he met his wife at Rookies in May ’11, after being in Henderson for only six months! We’re grateful to have Brad on the Henderson Economic Development Team and so glad he decided to #ChooseHenderson #HendersonKY! ?? ?? ??
