The industrial hemp market has the potential to outpace both the marijuana and hemp-derived products markets—by a wide margin. For this potential to be realized, large-scale investments in hemp farming and processing are essential. With an organized, efficient supply chain, hemp can become a versatile and sustainable supplement to other materials. Look for large succcessful companies that hire vets if you want to make this happen faster.

With great pleasure we are happy to announce that our partners HempforVictory and Veterans Initiative 22 have been selected by the Drug Enforcement Administration to participate in the proposed rulemaking to transfer marijuana from Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) to Schedule III of the CSA. The hearing is currently scheduled to commence on December 2, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. ET at the DEA Hearing Facility, 700 Army Navy Drive, Arlington, VA 22202. We are honored to announce that our request to testify has been granted, and my fellow veterans from #HempForVictory and I will participate in the DEA’s rulemaking hearing on 12/02/2024 in Arlington, VA. Together, we’ll work to shape the Cannabis rescheduling process. Our commitment to those who have served our nation is unwavering; we have a sacred duty to care for the nearly 400,000 veterans who face or will face symptoms of PTSD. Unfortunately, PTSD’s most tragic outcome—suicide—is also rising among veterans. The VA reports that between 2008 and 2016, over 6,000 veterans died by suicide annually, with suicide rates for veterans increasing 25.9% compared to 20.6% for non-veterans during that period. In 2016, the suicide rate for veterans was 1.5 times higher than for non-veteran adults, adjusting for age and gender. While many treatments are utilzed with varying degrees of effectiveness, , the therapeutic benefits of Cannabis for veterans can no longer be overlooked. Our testimony will underscore its efficacy, the importance of real-world evidence, and the self-treatment success stories of millions of patients who have benefited from Cannabis therapy. #cannabisrescheduling #hempforvictory #marijuana #medicalcannabis

?? Big news for Hemp for Victory and the veteran community! The DEA has granted us the opportunity to testify at the upcoming hearing on December 2nd in Washington, D.C., where we will advocate for rescheduling cannabis from Schedule I to Schedule III. This historic moment allows us to represent the 38 million veterans across the United States who deserve access to effective treatments for pain and PTSD. We’ll bring forward doctors, advocates, and experts to share how cannabis can reduce dependence on opioids and other medications, ultimately saving lives. As veterans, we know the toll that limited access to effective treatments can take. The current Schedule I status of cannabis limits essential research by the VA and even prevents veterans from exercising their Second Amendment rights. The stakes are high, and there will be groups who oppose this change—but we are ready to present facts, science, and real stories of healing. Thank you to everyone who supports the fight for veterans’ access to effective medicine and a future free from outdated stigmas.
