HOA leaders, MollyGanley (left) and Karen Callahan (right) participated with 38 other stakeholders in the second pilot Health Equity workshop for Community Oncology Alliance in Washington, D.C.. They came together with the shared mission of supporting independent community oncology practices in their efforts to put patients first in an equitable and sustainable way. They focused on People, Process, and Technology as the key pillars oncology practices must address as we work to implement evidence-based health programs tailored for our patients' needs. #HealthEquity #CommunityOncology #PatientAccess #CancerCare #hoacny

关于我们
What makes our practice truly special is that everyone at HOA is “united in spirit” – a spirit that is utterly un-crushable and filled with possibilities and hope. At HOA, we believe that effective medical treatment is not only about healing our patients’ physical illnesses, but also about promoting their emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. Our holistic approach ensures that our patients are treated like people, not medical cases. We get to know each patient and recommend treatments designed to heal the whole person.

This week we are celebrating our Nurse Practitioner Team! They perform a variety of procedures, including biopsies, chemotherapy, prescribing medications, ordering tests, providing education and administering advanced therapies. We also have radiation NPs, and NPs who specialize in Cancer Genetics, Supportive Oncology and Survivorship, as well as some who work exclusively in the hospitals. They all work closely with physicians, surgeons, nurses and other healthcare team members to develop treatment plans and coordinate care for our patients and support their caregivers. They are essential to the outstanding care our patients receive and we truly cannot thank them enough! Please join us in saluting our amazing Nurse Practitioner staff!

While lung cancer causes more deaths than other cancers, it is highly curable when caught early! The way to diagnose lung cancer early in smokers is with a lung cancer screening - a low-dose CT scan that takes about a minute. To draw attention to this valuable test, we are again offering free lung cancer screenings for current and former heavy smokers between ages 50-80. Year after year people tell us that having the screening at no cost and on a Saturday, is what motivates them to finally get tested. So, we keep doing it. We appreciate if you could please help us to spread the word about this valuable community service offered in conjunction with CRA Imaging. Thank you!
