Partnerships like ours with?United Way of New York City?ensure we continue to make progress in fighting homelessness and its effects on families. Thanks to all who visited us at HELP Morris last week!
Earlier this week, members of the UWNYC staff, board members, Emergency Food and Shelter (EFSP) Local Board, United Way Worldwide staff, and donors visited two of our EFSP partners in the Bronx: Part of the Solution POTS and HELP USA. The EFSP is a federal grant that supports local organizations providing emergency food, shelter, housing, and utilities assistance. As part of the EFSP Local Board, UWNYC partners with United Way Worldwide, American Red Cross, The Salvation Army Greater New York Division, Catholic Charities USA, The Bridge Fund of New York Inc., UJA-Federation of New York, The Partnership To End Homelessness, Hunger Free America, Hispanic Federation, Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies, Inc., New York City Human Resources Administration, and Food Bank For New York City, to help distribute these critical funds. At Part of the Solution POTS, we saw how they provide food, housing support, and essential services to help individuals achieve long-term stability. HELP USA shared their impactful work offering shelter and permanent supportive housing to those at risk of homelessness. A special thank you to Assembly Member Yudelka Tapia, Assembly Member Landon Dais, Esq., Hennessy Reyes, Chief of Staff for NYS Senator Luis R. Sepulveda, and Bronx District 33 Senator Gustavo Rivera for joining us on this visit. We appreciate your time and dedication to supporting these essential programs.
