Every great company is secretly a civilization. The good ones just admit it The reason why Helpjuice only hires 1 in 1,000 applicants. We're not swimming in resumes. We're not trying to be elitist. But finding the right citizen for our nation? That's rare magic. Yes, citizen. Not employee. Watch what happens in tech lately: CEOs executing mass layoffs like medieval monarchs, chopping heads in the town square. We want to build something different. We're a place where we don't track hours (nations don't have time cards), where transparency isn't a buzzword but a constitutional right, where every citizen knows exactly how to grow and prosper. Some truths I've learned about building a civilization: - Trust is everything. Break it? Instant exile. No exceptions. - We hire for values over skills. You can teach Python. You can't teach integrity. - Bureaucracy kills nations. So we killed bureaucracy. - We'd rather automate than hire. Rather pay more than expand mindlessly. - KPIs? We have maybe two. Nations don't run on spreadsheets. There's this funny pattern in tech: Every company either becomes a pyramid scheme or attempts world domination. It's what happens when leaders forget they're building a civilization, not a profit machine. Thirteen years in, I wish someone had told me this earlier: When you treat your company as a civilization, you stop making selfish decisions. You start building something that outlasts you. Your company is a micro-nation. Start acting like it. P.S. Now accepting new citizens.
