A ministry I work with supports the leadership of the Church of Cuba as they share the Gospel and provide resources to their communities. Milk is impossible to get in the country. So, a few months ago, I helped them with a story on?powdered milk. Powdered milk provides many benefits over fresh milk for the people of Cuba. Then, the?fundraiser launched this summer with a teaser in the monthly e-mail. While 76% of the fundraising goal has been reached to date, the impact was more profound than ever imagined. So many testimonies have flooded in. Pastors who had never met each other were meeting for the first time to share some of the distribution of powdered milk. Many have shed?tears of joy over the milk, souls have been saved, and people have enjoyed and shared nutritious milk. And today, the distribution continues with more stories every day. Earlier this year, I helped a client work with a local videographer to create a series of customer testimonials to feature on television. The videos were shot in March, and the TV commercials launched in the Charlotte market in May. Seeing a client's logo on the "big screen" and the weatherman's ticker on the nightly news was exciting. Last week, I had the honor of attending the launch of Nourish Up. Two long-standing non-profits in Charlotte with a rich history of fighting hunger, Loaves & Fishes and Friendship Trays, joined forces and rebranded as Nourish Up. Last fall, working with my website partner, I collaborated with the Nourish Up marketing team to reorganize their content and site navigation and wrote their website copy. The website was redesigned from there, and the result is stellar. I am thrilled to see the words I put on paper hit my computer screen and, in some instances, billboards. Not only that, but I met their marketing team and my website partners in person at the launch. It is not lost on me how lucky I am to use my skills and talents to help make a difference in our community. Here's to many years of fighting hunger in Charlotte and beyond!
