THANK YOU to Denise Bradley, our amazing Community Advisory Board member, for orchestrating an unforgettable day for our children at the St. David’s Performance Center, the Official Training Facility of Austin FC! ?? ?? Special shoutout to the fantastic team members at St. David's HealthCare (Gabe Perlaza, Abbi Miller, Meg Moss) and Austin FC's Alison Roscoe for coordinating and hosting such a memorable afternoon for our children. The kids were thrilled to meet Austin FC soccer players Diego Rubio and Micah Burton, who joined the tour of the facility and shared tips and tricks while kicking the ball around with them on the field! ? After the fun on the field, the kids learned about the importance of nutrition and how to fuel their bodies after endurance activities. To top it all off, the players autographed the kids’ shirts provided by St. David’s Healthcare and sent them home with Austin FC soccer balls! We are so grateful for this incredible experience that the kids will cherish forever! #HopeHappensHere

We were honored to welcome Charles Martinez, Dean of The University of Texas College of Education, to our UT Charter School for the first time earlier this month! ?? It was a privilege to showcase our new facility and reflect on the 2023-2024 school year. Dean Martinez engaged with our dedicated staff, toured our campus, and met with our wonderful students. We are immensely grateful for The University of Texas’ support and partnership over the last 15 years, and for helping pave the way for our children's success! ?? #HopeHappensHere

We want to give a HUGE thank you to Pam and Neel White and White Construction —for raising $73,000 during the “We Care Classic Charity Golf Tournament” benefiting Helping Hand Home. HHH was so honored to be selected as this year’s beneficiary of this tournament! HHH was well represented by our golf team Bobby Jenkins, Greg Meserole, William Glasgow and Kyle Parks. White Construction started this tournament more than a decade ago and through the coordination of eleven tournaments, it has raised nearly $1M to make a significant impact on the expansion of our campus and the children that we serve. We are so honored to officially welcome Tania Leskovar-Owens as our new Chief Executive Officer! Tania is a seasoned non-profit leader with over 16 years of experience and a passion to serve others with strengths in child welfare, advertising, fundraising, communications, events, and volunteer management. Tania comes to Helping Hand Home after serving nine years as Executive Director at Foster Angels of Central Texas. During her tenure, she expanded staff and programing, impacting the lives of thousands of children in foster care. Prior to Foster Angels, Tania worked in development and fundraising at Susan G. Komen Austin and The University of Texas where she made significant impacts in development by securing many life changing gifts. With Tania's expertise and experience, we are thrilled about the future of the Home and fully confident we can continue to provide hope and healing to countless more children and families. ??
