I had a chance to visit The Hardy Williams Veterans Center at HELP Philadelphia IV today in SW Philadelphia. We opened this senior building, which has a set-aside for formerly homeless veterans, back in 2015. I love visiting our properties because it reminds me why we do what we do, which these days can be very challenging. I also love to see the doors and how people decorate them. I learned that a particular tenant is a real green thumb and has set up and cares for plants all over the building. Such a beautiful community.

We are currently seeking two new positions to join HELPDevCo: an Asset Manager and a Director of Financial Reporting. Both positions would join our team and assist in overseeing and managing our existing housing portfolio and development activities. Please reach out directly if you are interested in learning more, and feel free to share. I've included the summaries below. Asset Manager: Responsible for the Asset Management and Compliance for Permanent Housing apartment portfolio and oversight of the third-party property management company to maximize property performance and streamline operations. The Director of Financial Reporting will be the key person responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated unaudited GAAP financial statements, supporting the audit, and reviewing and applying accounting policies. The Director of Financial Reporting will also assist in developing and maintaining financial accounting, internal control, and reporting systems. The prospective candidate will have the opportunity to provide input and shape the future of a dynamic reporting function. This role is a great fit for a qualified professional who has the applicable experience and can hit the ground running.?

HELP built its first affordable housing community in Philadelphia in 1997. Known as Genesis Square Apartments, the complex has 40 three-bedroom homes that have been operating since then. We are currently renovating the complex to make numerous upgrades to ensure long-term affordability. The first of those apartments came back online last week. Here are a couple of pictures.

Our VP of Development,?Dan Montanaro,?sent this picture today of the ongoing construction of HELP ONE Building C - 77 units for families and those with supportive housing needs. He was standing on Building B's roof. You can also see at the top of the picture Genesis Homes, 150 family units with a large courtyard, and at the top right Genesis Neighborhood Plaza I and II - together 150 units of family and supportive housing for homeless veterans. Once the 4 HELP ONE buildings are complete, we will have 872 affordable apartments in a three-block area in East New York.
