Crowdfund Out-Thinking Parkinson's!
Case for support for Out-Thinking Parkinson's Crowdfunding:
For the past year, I’ve dedicated my life to finding working solutions for people suffering from Parkinson’s Disease. Through self-experimentation and self-awareness (I have early onset PD myself), and deep and broad research, I’ve been able to innovate and develop many impactful quality of life interventions.
According to the large number of truly humbling testimonials I’ve received https://www.outthinkingparkinsons.com/testimonials, it appears that my efforts have been worthwhile. Indeed, back at the start, I never would have imagined the level of gratitude I’ve been blessed with from people living with PD all over the world, never mind the tremendous feedback I’ve received from so many other people too, who let me know that I’ve helped them live, love and think better!
As part of this effort, a year ago I set up the website www.outthinkingparkinsons.com to share freely all my research, and to make the outcomes and ideas generated open access for everyone: I’ve never charged anyone, ever, to access the information and knowledge I’ve amassed, because I really am out to help as many people as possible. I’ve also freely contributed my time and expertise to the major independent information sharing project “Parkinson’s People” https://www.facebook.com/Parkinsonspeople.
But the truth is, I also heavily invested myself financially in order to pursue this, my cause, as a full time effort, and in January 2016, I gave up my social media marketing business which was my source of income. While I have done my very best to make Out-Thinking Parkinson’s a viable, self-sustaining project [by collating and collecting my blog posts and articles into books - which I make available both on Amazon https://amzn.to/2kj19lP and downloadable as printable PDFs on the website https://www.outthinkingparkinsons.com/downloads], any significant sales of these have unfortunately failed to materialize.
I am now stuck. Indeed, I’ve recently had to put my own house up for sale and move back in with my parents at the age of 44! So I do, right now, need to turn to the people who we’ve helped and ask, in return, for their help via this crowdfunding appeal

The major short term financial issue facing me is that the outthinkingparkinsons.com website, hosted by squarespace, now needs renewing for year two. I also desperately need a new basic laptop with Windows Office for my creative writing, desktop research, sourcing of products and for creating my video diary. Of course, all and any additional help beyond these costs would be greatly welcomed too! In particular, the cocktail of supplements and vitamins I am using and self-experimenting with, as part of my work to help develop nutritional therapies for people with PD, is becoming quite expensive. I also feel having access to more professional video and audio equipment for creating my video diary entries would benefit everyone. Then, I really want to continue trying and testing all sorts of toys and props in relearning movement for people with PD – I do believe our “Curosity and Play” therapy ideas have been one of our most impactful and innovative contributions. In addition, I need to get my genetics properly tested and analysed as part of research efforts into nutrional-gene therapies for PD.
Certainly, the financial stress I am currently under is not helpful to the cause, because, as I believe I’ve helped people to understand better, stress is the very worst enemy of anyone with PD. So I live in hope that people I’ve helped might now be willing to help me continue to help others too.
