As a longevity and obesity medicine doctor, I’m often asked, “What does longevity mean to you?” To me, it’s about living longer and living better! ??
#Longevity not only refers to the length of a person’s life but also living a healthy life. Research has focused on ways to extend both #lifespan (total years lived) and #healthspan (years lived in good health, free from major diseases or disabilities).
It also aligns well with #weightmanagement and metabolic health since maintaining a healthy #weight, reducing insulin resistance, and optimizing nutrition all contribute to a longer, healthier life.
Lifestyle interventions like fasting, strength training, and optimizing #protein intake can enhance #metabolichealth, while emerging science such as senolytics, rapamycin, and NAD+ boosters may offer additional benefits.
Longevity and weight management are deeply connected. Many longevity interventions, like improving metabolic flexibility, reducing visceral fat, and managing insulinresistance, aligns well with our focused program of #tata1mgWeightwise.
Excited to share that I was recently a featured guest on the HelloFam podcast.
Being their KOL and a longevity doctor, we talk about our views on this topic. We also talked about #fattyliver disease and #vitaminD deficiency.
Special thanks to HelloFam and Bobbie Kumar, MD MBA FAAFP in promoting this important message.
