We just continue to be wowed by the tech leadership shown by Barbara Fischer and the team at The University of Toledo Foundation. They approached their #CRM implementation in a truly thoughtful way. At Heller, we don't have favorite clients but... ?? #nptech

Farewell to the Nursery! ?????? Nearly three weeks after the successful launch of Apex, our new CRM, we’re officially dismantling the Nursery—our version of a war room. We called it the Nursery because, like a newborn, our CRM needed constant care, attention, and patience. It was a fun (and strategic) change management approach to remind everyone that early adoption comes with growing pains. Shout-outs to: ??Keith Maly – for wrangling and correcting data like a pro ?? Anthony Scamaldo – for being our feedback wrangler and all-around solutions guy ?? The entire team – for tackling every question, challenge, and curveball with agility and teamwork As for me? I brought snacks and jokes. ?? It was great to have a space where we could problem-solve on the spot, brainstorm in real-time, and support each other through the transition. Now, it’s time to return to our regularly scheduled spaces—with a fully operational Apex and a team that continues to impress. #CRM #ChangeManagement #Teamwork #Innovation #DataDriven #ApexLaunch

This was such a great project for us! The University of Toledo Foundation's CRM had been kicking around since the 1990s. We were excited to work with technology leaders including Barbara Fischer and our partners at Kindsight on a solution that meets their needs for today and prepares them for the future. ??
The University of Toledo Foundation is officially LIVE on ascend!?We watched for months as the countdown clock counted down to 00:00 and the Snack Wagon made its rounds, and the team chose their system name, Apex.?Let’s all give a hearty cheer and celebrate this small and mighty team!? What an exciting implementation project led by the Heller Consulting Team with assistance along the way from JCA.?Congratulations on the collaboration of the hardworking and dedicated advancement services team at The University of Toledo Foundation.? Barbara Fischer, Associate Vice President IT & Data Analytics shared, "I am excited about ascend because it provides the University of Toledo Foundation with a single, reliable source of truth for our data, eliminating silos and improving efficiency across our organization. With its modern, flexible architecture, ascend allows us to streamline our processes, enhance data integrity, and make more informed, strategic decisions. One of the key reasons we chose ascend was its strong emphasis on building a community. That community has been invaluable to me and my team, offering a built-in support network where we can collaborate, share best practices, and quickly find solutions to challenges as we grow with the system. Knowing that we are part of a network of peers who are all working towards similar goals makes a huge difference in how we approach this transition and the long-term success of our CRM." We are excited about your fundraising future, and we look forward to working with you in the future. Congratulations and Kudos!?? ?#advancement #fundraising #committedtocommunity #apex

Heller Consulting Appreciation Post ?? Truth be told, when we started out on our CRM journey, we had no idea what an implementation partner was. As we worked our way through the process to get to the demos of our potential CRM partners, we started to grasp the complexity of the project we were undertaking—and just how critical an implementation partner would be. Choosing the right CRM product was important, but we quickly realized that choosing the right implementation partner was critical. After talking with Heller Consulting and sharing our challenges (a small team, a 30-year-old system, and more), it was clear—they got us. They understood what we needed and how they could help make our project a success. I know there were many people on the Heller team working behind the scenes to ensure our project ran smoothly, but I want to give a special shout-out to the folks we worked most closely with: ?? Okiemute was our overall project manager—he put up with my sassiness, kept us on track, and managed all the project details brilliantly. (And he is a fellow Canadian ??) ?? Bre-Lyn Cober Wong helped kickstart our journey, and Tessa Boyce helped guide us over the finish line with their expertise in Ascend, Salesforce, and integrations. ?? Erica Callaghan was our data guru—mapping our legacy data, asking the right questions, and wrangling our data like a pro. A hearty high-five to the entire Heller team for making this project a success! ??
