As I start my second year in Construction Management Technology at Purdue University this fall, I can’t help but reflect on the incredible summer summer internship I had with Helix Electric in Manassas, VA. I got the opportunity to work on a project located in Washington, D.C. as a Project Engineer Intern. This experience has been so instrumental to my growth and knowledge in the construction industry. From diving into real-world projects to collaborating with an amazing team, I’ve gained invaluable insights into the electrical side of construction, and I was able to hone my skills in ways I never anticipated. A special thanks to James McShane, Mikael Lucas, William Reyes, and the rest of the Mid-Atlantic office for all of your support and guidance this summer. This opportunity has been influenctial to my professional growth, and I am excited to utilize what I have learned in my future. Another special thanks to Hannah Kinnamon for spending time at Purdue University recruiting for Helix Electric! Excited for what the future holds!

Meet our intern Tyler Hanson! ?? He is an enthusiastic student from the University of Notre Dame and was a valuable part of our team this summer. He actively contributed to our projects at Elysian Rancho, Skytrac, and Hill Air Force Base. His fond memory with us was participating in job walks. He loved witnessing the transition from blueprints to reality. Post-graduation, he has his eyes set on electrical engineering, particularly semiconductors and embedded systems. We can't wait to see what the future holds for Tyler!

On March 14, ABC recognized the country’s top #construction projects as well as leading #safety and #diversity programs at the 34th Annual Excellence in Construction? Awards gala in Kissimmee, Florida. Helix Electric Inc.’s winning project, the P-416 Pacific Missile Range Facility power grid consolidation, is located in Kekaha, Hawaii. The project consolidated the electrical power distribution systems by connecting multiple independent systems into one continuous system to facilitate power transfer from areas with excess renewable energy to other area grids on the installation. #ABCMeritShopProud
