How do you breathe life into an old bank? Helios has successfully transformed old banks into new, exciting community spaces, and we are excited to do it again! A regional bank in Westmont recently downsized to a smaller branch, leaving behind a two-story building. Our client, BAMtheatre, was planning on expanding into their own venue, and our team saw this building as a chance to create something truly special. ? Helios partnered with BAMtheatre from the beginning, helping to identify the ideal location, evaluate multiple sites, and manage everything from preconstruction to construction.?Construction has recently commenced, and we are thrilled to be part of their vision, working to convert this building into a modern, one-of-a-kind venue. Stay tuned for updates as we prepare for their opening night in early 2025!

Helios Construction Services has been working in high-end retail for 15 years, and we’ve learned that every retail client is unique, even down to their preferences for project management tools. In addition to our typical reality capture and coordination tools, we are using HoloBuilder to document progress with a client and design team scattered between the US and Europe.?In addition to documenting progress, we are leveraging HoloBuilder with Revit to coordinate our work with the client’s international stone and millwork vendors.?Whether we’re quickly adopting new software or delivering highly detailed and complicated projects, we strive to be adaptable to our clients’ operational needs.?

Look up! We’ve teamed with Elevated Technologies Inc. and Vertical Contacting to take our post-construction facilities services to new heights at the Jesse Brown Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Our team is building a new electrical room on the roof as part of a larger elevator modernization project. We needed a crane to hoist the steel structure and roofing materials, and we’ll be finishing up soon to ensure the hospital’s infrastructure is ready for the next phase of upgrades.

Helios is excited to share our recent collaboration with the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Kwong Von Glinow Design Office on a residential hall lobby renovation project.?One of these lobbies is a Landmark status, and all finishes must match the original construction design. ?? One of the highlights is this vibrant art installation by local studio Luftwerk. Our team worked closely with them to design a custom niche and integrated a light ring to make the artwork stand out. The lobby also boasts terrazzo flooring, curved walls installed with curved bracing, and a radius barrel acoustical plaster ceiling system. ? Given the intensive terrazzo installation process (nobody could walk in the space for 10 days!), we phased the work to ensure minimal disruption for students and staff. We're proud of how this project is coming together and are excited to share more once the millwork is installed!

We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Australian furniture brand King Living as they make their mark in North America. Helios was chosen to handle the core and shell project, and now we’ve been entrusted with transforming the interior of their new showroom in Chicago, the brand’s second U.S. location. With Stantec guiding the design, we're creating a fresh, contemporary environment that embodies their design-forward brand. The Helios team is excited to participate in King Living’s ongoing global expansion!

We’re thrilled to unveil a new rendering of an innovative net-zero manufacturing project that we are spearheading! Helios is partnering with a manufacturing company to develop and build a cutting-edge 53,000 SF facility in the Chicago area. Our client is committed to achieving net-zero consumption for the building’s HVAC systems, and we’re helping them identify high-efficiency solutions and federal, state, and utility-level incentives to offset costs. ?
