We’re proud to join the global celebration of exploration and innovation during #WorldSpaceWeek. As our community focuses on the intersection of space and sustainability, we’re reminded of the role that space technology plays in addressing global challenges. #FusionPropulsion will unlock new possibilities for humanity to explore the far reaches of our solar system and beyond, and at #HelicitySpace, our work aims to contribute to a future where space travel is not only faster and more efficient but also more sustainable than ever before. The future is closer than it seems, and we’re excited to be part of the journey alongside so many in the space community.

Allyson Sellner joined #HelicitySpace as a Staff Scientist in June 2023, just two weeks after earning her degree in Physics and Astronomy-Physics from University of Wisconsin-Madison. During her undergraduate years, she worked on the Madison Symmetric Torus (MST), designing experimental diagnostics and analyzing plasma data. ? Allyson’s interest is advancing #deepspace exploration to uncover more about the solar system’s phenomena. We're excited to have her contributing to our mission to enable faster, more efficient #spacetransportation through the development of #fusionpropulsion.? ? #SpaceExploration #PlasmaPhysics #TeamHelicity

Wishing our amazing summer interns good luck this fall! ? We want to extend a huge thank you to Solal, Niko and Ocean for their hard work and dedication at Helicity Space. Your contributions have been invaluable! ? Niko particularly enjoyed following along and participating in the creation of a B-Dot probe. "From working with the team to designing things myself, it gave me a glimpse into how technological innovation happens," Niko shared. ? Solal and Ocean both made significant strides with our technical processes. Solal dove into soldering circuit boards, mastering new techniques with smaller components, while Ocean explored reflow soldering and its applications, along with the troubleshooting process. ? As they embark on the new semester, we wish them the best of luck in their academic and professional journeys. We’re confident their generation will see the fusion propulsion technology they worked on continue to make significant advancements, and that the future of space transportation is in good hands. ? Thank you once again for being a part of our team this summer! ? #Internships #HelicitySpace #FusionPropulsion #SpaceTech Ocean Raillard Solal Duhaut-Bedos

An experimental physicist focused on plasma physics and physical acoustics, Dr. Seth Pree is a Staff Scientist at #HelicitySpace. During his post-doctorate at Caltech, Dr. Pree played a key role in designing and simulating our advanced peristaltic nozzle. In?addition, he built a portable X-ray camera to support experiments in nuclear fusion and astrophysical research. He earned his doctoral degree in physics from UCLA in 2020 and studied various plasma phenomena, including dense plasma focus, laser-induced plasmas and spark discharges. He conducted these studies with techniques such as high-speed videography, microwave scattering and time-of-flight neutron detection. He received his bachelor’s degree in applied and engineering physics from Cornell University in 2013. “Our core team, advisors, and collaborators are from and have been educated around the world,” Dr. Pree shares. “I enjoy the color this adds to our discussions and the confidence that comes from knowing we can draw on our?global network to address technical issues.” #FusionPropulsion #SpaceTechnology #TeamHelicity?

#EmployeeSpotlight Joseph "Sam" Samaniego is working to develop the Helicity Drive proof of concept for Helicity Space. He comes to Helicity after working for NOAA and being stationed at the South Pole for 13 months. Sam's also worked with the Southwest Research Institute, NASA spacecraft missions, the Laboratory of Atmospheric and Space Physics, and the European Center for Particle Physics. He received his bachelor's from Boston University, earned a PhD in Plasma Diagnostics from the University of Colorado-Boulder. Sam also spent several seasons as a firefighter for Cal-Fire. Learn more about Sam: https://bit.ly/3WjosOU When asked about working for Helicity, Sam said, "Helicity Space is a small but potent team, where we all effectively wear multiple hats and act for the common goal." #TeamHelicity #FusionPropulsion #SpaceTechnology #Innovation
