The Invert Chicago is a proposed 6 million square-foot #subsurface facility offering innovative spaces for #lightindustrial, including #verticalfarming, #coldstorage, #sustainablemanufacturing, #datacenter, #archivestorage and more. With commercial development underground, the Invert will revive the current industrial landscape, and help the southeast side community thrive with new #communitypark, #communitycenter, #EVcharging, #solarfarm, #ecologicalrestoration, and #CleanAirTechnology. Bringing to the fore another Moretti’s project, Heitman Architects Incorporated designed the unbuilt Moretti's Golf Social project at Yorktown Shopping Center. In addition to this exciting entertainment venue, Heitman master planned the expanded 3-phase development that included retail, residential, and was approved by the Village of Lombard. My kids' holiday sports tournament brought me back to the I-90 & Randall Road interchange for four (4) days & nights this week. Got to revisit four (4) Heitman Architects Incorporated projects that helped establish the Randall Road corridor including (1) John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. Headquarters, (2) two multistory office buildings at PANCOR Development's Randall Point Executive Center, (3) the Burnt Toast Restaurant, and (4) 2300 Bushwood Dr. – now Moretti's Elgin. More about projects Burnt Toast Restaurant, and 2300 Bushwood Dr. (now Moretti's Elgin) pictured below:   Burnt Toast Restaurant, “a modern restaurant with a neighborhood feel”, was a build-to-suit project completed in 2007. 100% family owned, Burnt Toast Restaurant has served the Randall Road corridor for more than 15 years.   2300 Bushwood Dr. was originally built to suit On Q, a multistory tournament pool hall & restaurant. Now Moretti’s Elgin, the restaurant is strategically located on a storm water wet pond park feature for its scenic views, shimmering reflection, and significant exposure to traffic on Randall Road. Yesterday, 12/21 was the #WinterSolstice, the shortest day of the year, when the Sun is lowest in our sky. Despite being the shortest day (and longest night), the Winter Solstice gives us the longest light. The low winter Sun reaches deepest, illuminating the darkest corners of our buildings and homes when we need it most. Heitman Architects Incorporated designed the Norix Furniture project to accept the winter’s deep-reaching and warming light. Inversely, its south-facing boardroom architecture is at the angle of the Spring/Fall Equinox, which provides sun shading during warmer seasons. Photography by Patsy McEnroe

Nothing but blue skies today at Canterfield Corporate Campus in West Dundee, where this new 255,000 square foot #SpecIndustrial building captures the Fox River Experience. Heitman Architects Incorporated designed this spec facility along with the adjacent Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling #BuiltToSuit facility for Transwestern Development. Mass timber entry canopies, and rusticated stone precast wall details blend into the naturalized landscaping. Meandering parkways and pedestrian trails create a true Live/Work/Play corporate campus near the Chicagoland I-90 Golden Corridor and Route 31 Exit.   In addition to Transwestern, project team partners included HLC Partners, NAI Hiffman, Triumph Design Build , Manhard Consulting, and IMEG.   #Canterfield #CorporateCampus #LiveWorkPlay #SpecIndustrial
