This Women’s History Month, we celebrate Holly Rowe—a trailblazer in sports media and a beloved member of the Heisman family. With over 30 years in broadcasting, Holly has covered some of the most iconic moments in college football and beyond. As a pivotal voice on the ABC/ESPN College Football broadcast team, along with the WNBA, the NCAA Women’s Final Four, the Women’s College World Series, and multiple other NCAA sports, she has helped shape the narrative of sports with her insight and storytelling. The Heisman Trust has been honored to have Holly on the Heisman Ceremony broadcast team, as well as a host and presenter at several of our Heisman weekend events over the years. Beyond her work on the sidelines, Holly has shown remarkable resilience. She courageously shared her battle with cancer while continuing to inspire through her dedication to the game. She later founded Joy+Us, a charity designed to bring joy to those affected by cancer which the Heisman Trust has been proud to support. A passionate advocate for women’s sports, Holly exemplifies the type of individual to be recognized this Women’s History Month. Holly, we celebrate you today and every day. L.E.A.D. stands for Launch, Expose, Advise and Direct, and the L.E.A.D Center for Youth uses these pillars to provide year-round, direct service programming to up to 250 Black youth in 6th-12th grades from inner-city communities that attend Atlanta Public Schools. Their year-round programming consists of activities across four areas of focus: academics, athletics, civic engagement and commerce. The Heisman Trophy Trust is proud to have Misty Copeland as the recipient of the 2024 Heisman Humanitarian Award! The Misty Copeland Foundation, was founded in 2021 to bring diversity, equity and inclusion through dance, especially in under-resourced communities. The foundation's signature program, BE BOLD, stands for Ballet Explorations Ballet Offers Leadership Development. The program strives to address the gap in afterschool programs and limited access to formal dance instruction, particularly in communities of color.? “Through BE BOLD and future initiatives of the Foundation, I'm excited to bring the beauty of the arts to those who need it most,” said Copeland.
