The mission of the Heinzerling Community is to provide a loving and nurturing environment that enriches the development, education and quality of life of individuals with severe or profound developmental disabilities. The Heinzerling Community is located on the Southwest side of Columbus and provides 24 hour residential care for 208 individuals with severe developmental disabilities. A staff of over 520 professionals works around the clock to nurture our residents and give them a fulfilled life. This is accomplished through a personalized approach involving many therapies including physical/occupational therapy, communication skills, life skills, sensory development, and mobility opportunities for residents. Much of this occurs at the Heinzerling Community and off-site during community field trips.

  • We are excited to announce that we will hold our annual auction gala, the "Heinzerling Community Gala," on the evening of Friday, February 21, 2025, at Grange Insurance. This special event will feature one-of-a-kind Heinzerling resident artwork, amazing silent auction packages, an exciting live auction, an exclusive bourbon raffle, and a new safe raffle with the chance to win BIG cash prizes. All silent auction items will be available for preview in mid-February. 100% of the event proceeds support annual programs for Heinzerling Community residents.   • The Heinzerling Community is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Leslie Johnson to its Board of Trustees. Leslie is the Executive Director, Head of?Americas Digital Events and Marketing Operations at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, and has served in many other roles for J.P. Morgan from 1997 to the present. Prior to her long and successful career at J.P. Morgan, Leslie held roles at BISYS Fund Services, and Dean Witter Reynolds. Leslie and her husband reside in Columbus and have four grown children. We welcome Leslie to our Board of Directors. ?

    Earlier this year I was honored to join the Board of Directors for Heinzerling Community, where my oldest son, Noah, is a full-time resident. On Mon, Sept 9 we’re thrilled to be hosting the 38th Annual Heinzerling Golf Classic at Heritage Golf Club. If you’re in Central Ohio, come and join us for a GREAT event that supports an outstanding organization!   • We greatly appreciate our "Adopt A Unit" partner, Huntington Bank, for volunteering to spend the morning with our residents. Everyone had a great time making bird nests, playing bird bingo, blowing bubbles, and reading about birds. What a great way to welcome spring to our community!
