The holidays can be a wonderful time thanks to gatherings of family and friends, traditions, memories, religious observances, and more. However, many older adults experience grief and sadness during this season as a result of the loss of a spouse and/or friends, loss of functioning and independence due to medical problems, social isolation, loss or decrease in income, amongst other issues. The holidays can exacerbate these feelings when the pressure is on to take stock, be grateful and experience heightened connections with family and friends. We developed tips for our Friendly Visitor Volunteers to help them support someone as they face "holiday blues". https://lnkd.in/e9qnCeaV

Older Adult Centers work to promote the wellbeing of their communities. One of the ways we do this is by engaging community partners and working with them for outreach, promotion, and to share resources.
