April Cox, Executive Director of ROCKINGHAM COUNTY PARTNERSHIP FOR CHILDREN is doing an exceptional job of utilizing ?????????????????????? ????????????????????. Hear in her own words ??, the difference it is making: "Most recently, I was awarded the opportunity to step away from my work responsibilities for five months for a sabbatical/medical leave. To say that shared/distributed leadership was demonstrated by the team is an understatement. Our Finance Director agreed to take on the role of Interim ED with a significant amount of additional support from the Administrative Assistant. The board approved additional compensation for these two positions for absorbing the bulk of the responsibilities in my absence. There was a clear plan that was shared with the entire team indicating timelines and who would be responsible for particular tasks. Other staff members volunteered to take on various tasks over the five months (leading meetings, creating data reports, etc). Were there some bumps along the way? Absolutely! However, the team came together, problem-solved and demonstrated leadership in new ways.
