Thanks to David Perkins for representing us last week in Boston at Decarb Connect's Decarb Tech Invest. It's exciting for Heidelberg Materials North America to be part of opportunities that inspire innovation and collaboration- toward the goal of decarbonization!
On to Boston for a few engaging, energizing… and entrepreneurial days!!!?It was great to be at Decarb Connect's Decarb Tech Invest this week and have the opportunity to be part of the Strategics in the Cement and Steel Industries panel discussion. While it is always fulfilling to be able to talk about our own perspectives on the challenges and opportunities as we move our sector forward in decarbonization, this event really was a FOAK of sorts (First Of A Kind… an acronym I am now becoming much more intimately familiar with) – bringing together industrials, innovators and investors in one setting to talk decarbonization. And I do emphasize OPPORTUNITIES… and working together – both innovation in our own space as well as collaboration with other sectors.?We can make (and I believe are making) significant progress now while also laying the foundation for future years. One thing that struck me as I attended the panel discussions and presentations during the event, while also getting to meet with a wide range of folks (and FOAKs) – technology developers, investors, other large industrial sectors who are leaning into many of the same things we are – is that there are a lot of very intelligent people working very hard to advance efforts to decarbonize.?It is encouraging, and frankly pretty inspiring as well. Connecting at this event has reinforced to me the power of collaboration to drive meaningful change. The insights and knowledge shared during the event will undoubtedly inform our strategies moving forward. Finally, a big thank you to Decarb Connect, who made this possible.?It was a great event! #HeidelbergMaterials #MaterialToBuildOurFuture #decarbconnect #DecarbTechInvest #Sustainability #Innovation #Collaboration
