She received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and completed her residency at John Peter Smith Hospital. More recently, Dr. Benavides graduated with the inaugural class in Master of Science in Health Care Transformation at the University of Texas in Austin. She believes that the H-E-B Wellness Primary Care model is the right approach to change how healthcare is delivered. Outside of the clinics, Dr. Benavides enjoys cycling on her time off.
