SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: As #Thanksgiving approaches, it feels natural to acknowledge all that we’re grateful for. This has been a rough year for many, and I'm feeling extra appreciative of things that ease people’s burdens and open the door to optimism and light. Thanks to everyone who supports our work, Hebrew Free Loan is one of those things. When we pull together and make a difference for those in our #community who need a helping hand, we’re repairing the world — one person or family at a time. If you’re in a position to give, please CLICK HERE to donate as generously as you can: hflasf.org/donate I can’t imagine our community without the #SafetyNet that interest-free lending provides. They came up against the stark realities of a healthcare system that was not equipped to provide high-level trauma care. With her husband to advocate for her, Rebecca’s condition stabilized, and she returned to California for #medical consultation. That’s when they discovered exactly how many bones were broken in Rebecca’s face and the extensive treatments she would need, to have any hope of #healing properly. Rebecca and Eric came to us for an interest-free health care loan during this period. They and their daughter were... In 2023, Rebecca was featured in an episode of the All the Wiser #podcast, where she talks about everything she's been through and her long road to healing, both physically and emotionally. The podcast producer made a charitable donation on Rebecca's behalf to Hebrew Free Loan, earning Rebecca and Eric membership in our Full Circle Club for paying forward the help they received to benefit others. Thanks to generous grants from the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund and an anonymous donor, our entire staff team got together at the beautifully rustic Costanoa Lodge and Camp on the coast south of San Francisco. The secret sauce to our efficient and highly productive operation is our individual dedication to making an #impact and assisting our clients, as well as our genuine #respect and #appreciation for one another. Shoutout to our former interest-free loan recipient, Melissa Dinwiddie, for guiding us through meaningful and memorable team-building exercises that cemented our bonds and ability to work effectively together. Here's to a bright future!
