We joined Infrastructure New Zealand and GHD last week, to discuss how the PPP model allocates risk, emphasises commercial performance, and rewards innovation at all stages of delivery. We're delighted to have the contract for KiwiRail's new Drury Station main works. South Auckland is growing, and the new station is a huge step in enabling access to economic and social opportunities. Bus, walking and cycling, and park and ride facilities will connect to local residential and business areas, and our works will include low-carbon concrete to reduce emissions during construction. Our Southern Structures team won their category in the CCNZ Canterbury Westland awards on Friday! In April, flooding took out a pier on KiwiRail's Bridge 57 over the Rangitata River. This severed the rail connection between Christchurch and Dunedin, causing major disruption to the supply chain and costing KiwiRail immensely. Our emergency works delivered critical repairs under a compressed timeline, in remote and harsh conditions, and the team were praised for their responsiveness, collaboration, and ability to think on their feet. Partnering with local specialists, including Paul Smith Earthmoving, Daniel Smith Industries, Ltd., Millar Engineering Ltd, and CanCast, they got trains up and running in just 10 days,?with full works completed in 6 weeks. Well done Ryan Hickey, Brad Thompson, Anthony Hyland, Pete Simpson, and the rest of the team, and a shoutout to Kirstie Harvey for a fantastic submission. Thanks to the CCNZ team for a wonderful night! ?????? ??
