Happy Ramadan to all passengers and colleagues celebrating this month. Last week, Heathrow was proud to host an inclusive Iftar event, where colleagues came together to learn about the spiritual and physical aspects of fasting, the importance of community during this month, and to share a?communal meal after sunset. Thanks Heathrow ??” ?? “Thank you for the Iftar. Enjoyed it.” A big thank you to the Heathrow Internal Communications Team for organising this brilliant event, which was attended by members of Heathrow en-haNCE network – that celebrates and raises awareness of race, culture and ethnicity at Heathrow – and our Head of Multi-Faith Chaplaincy, Ruth Bottoms.

We wish all our passengers and colleagues a fantastic International Women’s Day today! ?? At Heathrow, we celebrated #IWD2025 and its theme #AccelerateAction by empowering the incredible women who make a difference at Heathrow and beyond. ? Many thanks to our Altitude Network that hosted an inspiring event with Melanie Yea, an esteemed Facilitator and NLP Master Practitioner dedicated to helping individuals foster positive change. And, of course, there were well-deserved treats for everyone – delicious cupcakes!

Lucky passengers watched the remaining candidates make their way to the Turkish Airlines check-in desks to meet Baroness Karren Brady and receive business tycoon Lord Sugar's next task –?board a plane to Türkiye and run corporate away-day experiences! This episode, titled ‘Turkey Corporate Hospitality’, dives into the world of travel and tourism and airs tonight at 9 PM on BBC One. With a ￡250,000 investment and Lord Sugar’s mentorship on the line, the competition is going to be fiercer than ever. Buckle up – it’s going to be a thrilling ride! ??

Heathrow has held the first meeting of the Heathrow Local Growth Taskforce, chaired by Lord Blunkett. As Heathrow embarks on the largest private investment programme in its history, this taskforce will ensure that investment delivers meaningful benefits for the local community, including: ?? Yesterday we had the pleasure of welcoming over 1,000 people to our careers fair, marking a fantastic start to #NationalCareersWeek. From inspiring conversations to on-the-spot job offers and interview opportunities, the fair provided a valuable platform for local job seekers to connect directly with our employer partners (Team Heathrow) and explore exciting career pathways at the airport. Represented at the event were our partners across several sectors including retail, construction and logistics. To excite students into careers within Aviation, we were also joined by HRUC (Harrow, Richmond & Uxbridge Colleges) who shed a light on the Aviation Generation course. We’re looking forward to hearing more about the opportunities that have come from yesterday’s event!
