I have always loved biographies and learning about why people do they work they do and what motivates and inspires them. As part of my upcoming book Eco-Anxiety, I showcase the many ways we can show up in the climate movement through the remarkable stories of extraordinary leaders.
Artists, entrepreneurs, scientists, engineers, philanthropists, faith leaders, teachers, doctors, storytellers, and policy wonks -- everyone is welcome and needed in this movement. This is the biggest challenge of our lifetimes. Come as you are.
Whether you are an Adventurer, Beacon, Influencer, Philanthropist, Spark, Sage or Wonk, you can apply your unique talents in service to ease eco-anxiety and create a greener, healthier, more future.
I'm thrilled to share the incredible "Eco-Heroes" featured in the book. From Gen Z global climate solutionist Maya Penn to founder of Yellowstone Peoples Dr. Shane Doyle to functional medicine expert Mark Hyman, MD, these leaders show what's possible.
As Mr. Rogers reminded us, we need to look to the helpers in times of crisis. These heroes are working every day in service to tackle the climate emergency in their own special ways and to become the awesome ancestors our future loved ones deserve.
It's time to change the narrative from gloom and doom and lean into the world we can create as we scale climate solutions and lean into compassion, connection, and community. We can't go it alone.
You'll not only be uplifted by these Eco-Heroes, but if you're new to climate action, you'll see yourself in this movement. If you're a longtime activist, these stories will restore your spirit and underscore that our collective resilience will make all the difference. We CAN do this.
