Who We Are: Hearts & Hammers At Hearts & Hammers, our mission is to provide free exterior home improvement assistance to senior citizens, individuals with disabilities, and veterans or their surviving spouses, enabling them to continue living independently in the homes they love. Our Chapters: Twin Cities, Minnesota: Established in 1997 by our founder Bob Walker, who brought the initiative from Dallas to the Twin Cities, we've been dedicated to restoring homes and touching lives across the metro area. Dallas, Texas: Founded in 1986 by architect and Peace Corps volunteer Bob Walker, our Dallas chapter has a rich history of community service, assisting low-income homeowners with deteriorating home exteriors. Our Impact: Since our inception, we've restored over 8,500 homes across the Twin Cities and Dallas, thanks to the dedication of thousands of volunteers. What we do: - Provide free exterior home repairs and maintenance for low-income seniors. Improve safety with accessibility modifications like handrails and ramps. - Revitalize homes to restore pride and dignity for senior homeowners. How you can help: - Volunteer: Join us in making a hands-on difference!
